I am a third-year PhD student in the Department of Statistics at UC Berkeley. I am lucky and grateful to be advised by Ryan Tibshirani. From 2015-2021, I did my B.S. in Mathematical Sciences and B.A. in Economics in Seoul National University. From 2017-2018, I served in the Republic of Korea Army.
Outside statistics, I enjoy playing tennis, swimming, playing piano, and reading; and I am a two-time winner of Jerzy Neyman Foosball Tournament hosted by the Statistics department (SGSA).

My research interests are broadly lying in nonparametric statistics, deep learning (DL), uncertainty quantification, and out-of-context statistical methodology; on both theoretical and applied sides of those. My main focus at this time is (i) to understand statistical features of known DL models and phenomena and (ii) to deduce statistically rigorous conclusions from the results of the DL models.
